De Nederlandse Leverpatiënten Vereniging (NLV) heeft in 2023 de brochure Steatotische leverziekte uitgebracht. Hierin staat in 14 punten op patiëntvriendelijke manier uitgelegd wat er gebeurt als er sprake is van teveel vetopslag in de lever – en er dus sprake is van steatotische leverziekte (MASLD) – en welke behandelmogelijkheden hiervoor zijn:
